ON February 26, 2019,Professor ShiZuMei，Expert of DHUCP visited Ministry of Planning Development&Reforms and Higher Education Commission of Pakistan Government.
In the morning, Professor Shi had a meeting with Mr. Hassan Daud Butt, Project Director CPEC of Ministry of Planning Development&Reforms of Pakistan.Professor Shi explained that Data@China Hundred Universities Project started in 2016, so far, nearly 30 universities are cooperating with Sugon Ruiyi Education Group with the support of the government,under the background of “the Belt and Road”Initiative which was proposed by the Chinese government, AETDEW and Sugon Ruiyi Education Group began to jointly promote DHUCP.He further noted that “the Belt and Road” countries are all developing countries, economic development is a important task faced by all “the Belt and Road” countries, and the education development is the key premise of economic development, China and Pakistan are friendly countries, it has great significance that he preferred Pakistan as the first stop of his visit, he believes that the education exchange between two countries will be model for other developing countries’education exchange.
Mr.Hassan Daud Butt talked about his study experience in SiChuan university of China, expressed the deep love for Chinese culture,he is keen to pay close attention to the progress of DHUCP and provide timely support.
In the afternoon, Professor Shi met with Mr. Raza Bhatti, member of higher education commission of Pakistan and Mr. Safdar Ali Shah, director general CPEC of higher education commision.Professor Shi said，although DHUCP is still in the design stage, it has a bright future and great significance.In 2019, educational exchanges between Chinese universities and universities in “the Belt and Road” countries are expected to be carried out in a substantial way.
Mr. Raza Bhatti thanked Professor Shi for his visit，on behalf of the higher education commission,he said they are expecting that the implementation plan of DHUCP to be clarified as soon as possible. Meanwhile, they will provide continuous attention and support to DHUCP.
