On September 29, 2023, PakistaniFellow Manzoor Soomro and Malaysian Fellow Professor Chuah Hean Teik from AETDEW were awarded the Chinese Government Friendship Award.
This award is the highest recognition given by the Chinese government to the Fellows of the AETDEW for their contributions to China and their friendship with the Chinese people. Premier Li Qiang personally presented certificates and medals to the two Fellows, and took a group photo with the awarded international friends and their families.
